SurgiWorld – Direct Bond Adhesive Remover & Scaler

Clinical Use

The Direct Bond Adhesive Remover and Scaler is used after debonding to lift residual adhesive from the tooth surface. The scaler tip is suited to fine cleanup near the gingival margin.

Design and Handling

After brackets are removed, leftover composite adhesive stays on the enamel. This double-ended instrument lets you lift the bulk of the adhesive with the remover end, then clean the area near the gum line with the scaler end.

Work with light pressure and short strokes, and finish the surface with a polishing step so the enamel is left smooth. The remover is for adhesive, not enamel, so avoid scraping the tooth.

Use and Care

Orthodontic hand instruments are handled all day with wet gloves, so a clean, secure grip matters. Wipe off bonding resin and cement before it hardens, and clean serrations with a brush before the instrument goes into the ultrasonic bath and autoclave.

Check the tips for wear or bending each week, because a damaged tip can scratch enamel, brackets or bands.

Material and Sterilization

Made from medical grade stainless steel. Autoclavable for repeated sterilization cycles. Clean and dry the instrument after each use, and check the working ends for wear or damage before it goes into the pouch.
