Clinical Use

The Endo Locking Pliers are used to handle gutta-percha and absorbent points. The high-tension locking mechanism holds the material firmly without constant finger pressure, which supports sterile transfer.

Design and Handling

Absorbent points and gutta-percha cones are small and easy to drop. The locking pliers hold them securely, so you can carry them to the canal without touching them and keep them clean.

Close the pliers on the point, lock them, and release once the point is in place.

Because the lock does the holding, your fingers are free to guide the point to the canal orifice, check its length against the working length, and adjust the angle without losing grip. This is helpful for both absorbent points used to dry the canal and gutta-percha master cones.

Care

Check that the lock engages cleanly and holds a point before each use. Clean the tips with a brush after every case so material does not collect in the serrations, and put a drop of lubricant on the joint before sterilization.

A lock that slips can drop a point into the field, so replace pliers that no longer hold firmly.

Keep the pliers with the obturation tray so that points are never picked up with fingers or with instruments that were not sterilized for endodontic use.

Material and Sterilization

Made from medical grade stainless steel. Autoclavable for repeated sterilization cycles. Clean and dry the instrument after each use, and check the working ends for wear or damage before it goes into the pouch.
