The ultra-slim body and pointed tapered tips allow the clinician to direct the cutting edge to exactly where the wire needs to be severed, close to the bracket wing, at the base of a ligature knot, or at the tip of a small-gauge auxiliary spring, without the bulkier body of a standard-size cutter blocking the approach angle. This is particularly relevant in the anterior region, where interproximal spaces are narrow, and in the posterior region, where the buccal tube limits how far distal the cutter can reach without bending. \n \nWire capacity is up to .012" (.30 mm), appropriate for standard stainless steel ligature wire, soft wire pins, and fine auxiliary wire components. The cutting edges are hardened to maintain sharpness through the volume of ligature cuts expected in a high-patient-day orthodontic practice.
