Product overview & features
Product detailsIn oral and maxillofacial surgical applications, this typically means large perforating vessels encountered during complex third molar removal or tumor resection, substantial soft tissue retraction during implant surgical exposure in patients with dense mucosal tissue, and heavy tissue bundle management in vestibuloplasty and frenectomy procedures where the tissue bulk being held under traction exceeds what the Kelly jaw can manage without the tissue splaying out from between the jaw faces. The Rochester-Pean's heavier jaw body provides a larger contact surface that distributes clamping force across more tissue area, which is safer for fragile tissue and more secure for heavy tissue structures.
At 6.25" (16 cm), the curved Rochester-Pean provides adequate reach for posterior molar access without the full extended length of the Adson pattern, placing it as the natural heavy-body instrument in a standard oral surgery tray alongside lighter-pattern hemostats for fine work. Medical-grade stainless steel, autoclavable at standard steam sterilization parameters.
Product Features
- Rochester-Pean hemostat curved heavy jaw body and full-length horizontal serrations handle large vessels and tissue volumes that exceed the capacity of Kelly-pattern hemostats
- Full-length serrations distribute grip force across the complete jaw surface for secure hold on substantial tissue bundles
- 6.25" (16 cm) curved jaw provides posterior oral surgical reach without requiring an extended-length instrument
- The heavy-body instrument in the dental surgical hemostat series, complementing finer-pattern hemostats on the same tray
- Medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable
