SurgiWorld – Root Canal Spreader, 0.35mm Mid Size

Clinical Use

The Root Canal Spreader, 0.35mm, is a mid-size spreader for efficient gutta-percha compaction. The stainless steel construction gives the tactile feedback needed for good obturation.

Design and Handling

A mid-size tip suits canals of average width, and it makes space for accessory cones after the master cone is placed. Good tactile feedback tells you when the tip has reached the depth you want and when the material is compressed.

Apply light apical pressure and a slight rotation.

Using a Spreader

Lateral condensation uses a spreader to make space beside the master cone for accessory cones. Select a spreader that reaches within 1 to 2mm of the working length, apply gentle apical pressure with a slight rotation, then withdraw it and place an accessory cone in the space it leaves.

Avoid heavy force, which can create stress in the root. Check the tip for bends or wear after each case, and replace a spreader that has lost its shape.

Spreaders are sold by tip size, and the tip size should match the canal preparation and the accessory cones in use. Many clinicians keep two or three sizes in the set, so that the spreader can be changed as the canal fills and the available space shrinks.

Material and Sterilization

Made from medical grade stainless steel. Autoclavable for repeated sterilization cycles. Clean and dry the instrument after each use, and check the working ends for wear or damage before it goes into the pouch.
