Clinical Use

The Adult Rubber Dam Frame is a stainless steel frame measuring 125mm wide by 126mm high, for isolation in endodontic and restorative work. It gives the right tension to keep the treatment area dry and visible while staying comfortable for the patient.

Design and Handling

The frame holds the dam away from the face and keeps it stretched flat, so the operator has an unobstructed field and the patient is comfortable. A frame that is too small pulls on the dam and presses on the face, and one that is too large gets in the way.

Fit it under the dam with the curve toward the chin, and adjust the dam so it is tight around the tooth without strain.

Rubber Dam Tips

Isolation is easiest when the setup is ready before the patient is seated. Punch the dam, choose a clamp, and check that the frame, forceps and floss are within reach. A dry, isolated field improves visibility, protects the airway from irrigant and debris, and keeps saliva off the tooth during bonding and root canal work.

Rinse and dry rubber dam instruments after each case, and watch for latex dust, cement or disinfectant residue building up in joints and holes.

Keeping a spare clamp plate, frame and forceps on the endodontic tray also means isolation is never delayed while an instrument is being reprocessed.

Material and Sterilization

Made from medical grade stainless steel. Autoclavable for repeated sterilization cycles. Clean and dry the instrument after each use, and check the working ends for wear or damage before it goes into the pouch.
